Key Dates:
- February 1st, 2025: Composer 1.x metadata will become read-only. No new packages or new versions will be visible for Composer 1.x users after this date.
- August 1st, 2025: Composer 1.x metadata access will be entirely shut down. Attempting to update packages using Composer 1.x will no longer work.
I think @Dennis already has a plan for this. Maybe it can be outlined here and be moved to in progress.
Just to say that Private Packagist will continue to support Composer v1 until at least September 1st 2027: https://packagist.com/features/extended-composer-1x-support

So it may be worthwhile to continue supporting ist, though I am not sure If any customers are still using Composer v1.
