I really enjoy using Ploi for my database server, but if we want to have replicas and failover, that requires a lot of configuration on Postgres. Having a single database server running in a production application is not something I can do unfortunately.

There are tools such as Patroni that can be used along with HAProxy that seems good, but the setup is complex. Apart from going down the route of a fully managed database provider, there do not seem to be any easy ways to get this setup.

There are other options too that look a bit simpler (there is a good overview here on Reddit but they are still pretty complex too. I think that there is a bit of a gap in the market for a setup like this and that it would be very popular!

Thank you for your suggestion, for now, we do not see any value in adding this. Obviously, if you need this you can always manually set this up if applicable.

However we will be keeping this card for future reference, if it gets more upvotes and traction we will reconsider the suggestion.
