Hi Ploi,

I have put this in the panel section as I think theres some extra QOL functionality that can be added to ploi that (for us) would be a massive gamechanger. Manually creating backups can easily be missed.

Would it be possible to create some 'global' backup jobs in Profile > Global Backups (for example) where we can set a template that all sites / all databases follow by default.

The interface should be pretty much the same as the existing backups but have the ability to enter paths with placeholders for their destinations.

For file backups, I think the fields should be:

  • Backup Configuration (Storage)
  • Path on remote driver (/{servername}/{sitename}/daily/)
  • Interval
  • Retention
  • Exclude files / folders (not necessarily for us, but others would find it helpful)
  • Zip Password

For database backups, very similar...

  • Backup Configuration (Storage)
  • Path on remote driver (/{servername}/{databasename}/daily/)
  • Interval
  • Retention
  • Table exclusions (again not for us, but may be helpful)
  • Zip password

Having this ability to create global jobs that catch all would be very helpful. so in our case we would have 3 global jobs for files and 3 for databases (daily, weekly, monthly).

Also, maybe at a site / database level we could 'exclude' from backup if theres no need for a backup on those.

Having the above would also remove the need for us to have potentially 900 jobs for all the sites and 900 for all the databases.

Happy to test and feedback!

Merged Backup Settings For All Server Sites into this item \n\n Created by: CURA Digital \n\n The ability to setup a file and database backup schedule that applies to all sites on a server would be fantastic. When deleting a site the user should be asked if all remote backups for that site should be deleted as well or have the option to make that a default.
