At the moment all servers which are added to haproxy are supposed to act as backend for each domain.

In some cases I do not have all domains on every backend-server.

Like:

  • web1 - domain.org
  • web2 - domain.org
  • web3 - domain2.org
  • web4 - domain2.org

Now at the moment I get 404 on 50% of all cases.

Just thinking out loud, this would also help us reduce the amount of Public IPs that we have - I would love to get rid of most.

Being able to not necessarily use the load balancing part but use it in a way of just a reverse proxy would be very valuable.

Yes I love it too Haproxy could optionally be the default web reverse proxy.

Take a look at https://roxy-wi.org/#about

A nice Web interface for managing HAProxy.

Fully manage backend and frontend.

You could group backends for failover

Or just specify one backend and then haproxy would be just a proxy and manage certs for the backends.

This would turbocharge the Haproxy server type.

You may use @ to mention someone.

Configure backends for each domain separately in HAProxy
