The docker implementation is awesome, I really enjoy working with it and having different docker compose apps listed there! However, we would love to manage these docker compose files in git repositories, this would help us keeping a history and updating the files in a more controlled way.

Looking around this issn't to unusual, Mailcow a email smtp/imap server also offers a repository with its docker compose file included.

Right now there is no support for such a setup, for it to work the following features would be nice:

  • Allow a source provider & repo to be provided when creating docker apps (this could also be a public one)
  • Add a deploy script to the docker apps which similar to normal sites pulls the repo and updates the docker compose file
  • Increase the file size limit for docker compose files in the UI - Right now it is at 25000 Chars and some of these docker compose files can become quite large, mailcow for example is above the limit.

Add better Support for git managed docker-compose.yml files (for Mailcow and similar apps)
