# Set deployment type via the API

Creating a site via the API always gives the default deployment type. There is no field or endpoint to switch it to “Custom deployment”, so after every API-created site we still have to open the panel. Please accept deployment_type on create-site and on PATCH /servers/{server}/sites/{site}.
