# Default collation for mySql 8 Databases

As discussed on discord [Ploi](https://discord.com/channels/465764339174080512/465764339174080514/1017749476829581353) still uses `utf8mb3_unicode_ci` as default on MySql8 Databases.

It would be great if we could switch to the MySQL8 default (`utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci`) for new databases.
